Baroque: the Best and Why

To each his own, fine.

But teach your kids what the baroque is: color, light, movement.

See the motion in the statue?

This is the baroque and this is Rome.

Photo taken in a Rome convent of a new statue.

  1. Is this a convent of good sisters which wear the traditional style habits? A friend who has been to Rome said that there are more good Orders in Rome than we are lead to believe.

I wouldn't think the "dime-a-dozen" Orders of radical aged layclothes sisters in Rome would spend the money on a beautiful statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Gee, do those kind of Orders (in the USA and Rome and elsewhere) even pray anymore? Let alone by a beautiful statue for their convent!

  3. Lots and lots of sisters in Italy still wear (a) traditional habit. Of course! They are just not seen by (us) because they are in their convents leading a hidden life in Him as is their vocation.

The sisters with this statue wear no habit at all.

  5. Love the baroque style.

Too bad the sisters are out of the habit (pun intended)
