For Those Who Complain That Theology Is Too "Dry"

Moms, dads and everybody else: just read St. Alphonsus de Liguori.

Yes, much theology is "dry" for many.  But not St. Alphonsus, Doctor of the Church.  He's easy and fun.

Find his ascetical works on the Internet and buy one and give it a try.  In the 1920s the Redemptorists in North America printed a complete edition in English of his works in many volumes.  They have all been reprinted.

What St. Alphonsus wrote was especially for the clergy, but it's also just right for everybody else, too.  He acts as narrator and what he writes is a collection of material for ecclesiastical retreats on rule of life and spiritual rules.  It was to teach clergy how to preach.

Copiosa Apud Eum Redemptio.
