My roommate learned the Faith in large part from reading old papal encyclicals.
Leo was ninety-three years old when he died and had a quarter-century pontificate. He began his astonishing series of encyclicals within six weeks of his coronation, inaugurating a teaching program and an interprative program on the mind and will of the Church which electrified the world.
