Palazzo dell'Accademia: Pontificia Accademia Ecclesiastica (Accademia dei Nobili Ecclesiastici)

This is the papal foreign-service school for diplomatic training in Rome.  You have to be a priest to study here and you have to be gifted with languages.

You graduate and then are sent as a minor official to a nunciature of the Holy See.  Start as a minor aid (minutante) and work your way up and hope you end up in a nice place like Tehran!

In the fall of 1922 the future Pope Paul VI arrived as a student here.  In May of 1923 he finished and was off to Warsaw, where he lasted just over six months.  He was 26, the youngest diplomat of the Church on active mission outside of Rome.  He later returned to teach here at the behest of the Cardinal Secretary of State, Eugenio Card. Pacelli.

Then Pius XII changed the name of the Accademia and was called a "progressive" for it.
