From the Swiss Alps: Happy New Year a.D. 2010!

All the best from Ascona, Switzerland, on Lago Maggiore (St. Charles Borromeo was born on the same lake in 1538, at the castle of Arona).  This is the place where palm trees meet snow.

A cold but then sunny and busy day doing the Lord's work.  Many thanks to Don Jeffry Moore for the wonderful hospitality (for the second year in a row!) and prayers and support.  He even showed me the biretta of St. Charles that he forgot in Ascona when he left in 1584 (four days before he passed away).
