Rome - North American College - 1937

Second row up, second from right.
Very Rev. Richard T. O'Connor, my old confessor (1911-1998).
He graduated from high school with my grandfather in 1929.
And he preached at the first Mass of the priest who baptized me.
He and this other priest, Monsignor Steiner (1918-1998), heard confessions every Saturday night together for years.
He went blind and suffered much, but had the mind of a rapier.
A good and holy priest.
Father, you were my first introduction to Rome; pray for us!
R.I.P.
