  1. They upheld the faith.

Speaking of those who uphold the Faith, Archbishop Timothy Dolan , a decent and fairly orthodox faithful Catholic Archbishop defeated the last remnants of the dark cloud of dissent and disobedience in the person of Bishop Gerald Kicanas for the Presidency of the USA Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Though not a 100% traditionalist, Dolan is at least a Catholic....which can not be said of Kicanas who was one of the last (Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta, 63 is the last),disciple of the late, un-great, infamous Joseph Cardinal Bernardin (d. 1996), who from about 1969-1996 was one of the most powerful voices of radical liberal progressive Catholicism inthe USA...a progressivism which verged of open defiance and dissent from Catholic teachings of almost every issue. He was leader of a gand of at it's peak about 140 progressive and openly radical dissenting bishops (some of whom have been exposed as having been practicing homosexuals who encouraged gays in seminaries and the priesthood). These people under the guidance of Bernardin subtly tried to undermine traditional Catholic practice (liturgical), traditions, and beliefs for almost 35 years.
The tide was starting to turn slowly back to traditional even before Bernardin died in 1996.
The last of his brood is a long litany of those who wrecked the USA Churc... Rembert Weakland, Donald Trautmann, Gerald Kicanas, Roger Mahoney, Daniel Pilarcyzk, Kenneth Untenner, Howard Hubbard, Matthew Clark, Raymond Hunthausen, Theodore McCarrick, Wilton Gregory etc. etc. etc.
