  2. Oh, I enlarged the picture, and it may say "the place of prayer where fish are sold". Is that St Peter with his boat? Once a fisherman now a fisher of men.

    Very close. Locus orationis venditorum piscium. Place of prayer of fishmongers (sellers of fish).

    But it could be read as "place of prayer of sold fish" -- if dead fish could pray! Perhaps the Latin pun was intentional?
