Communion Rail of St. Peter's Basilica

Did your parish keep theirs, too?

  2. Nonsense! It's a very splendid piece, considering that up until afew years ago, this would never been seen back in St. Peter's.

It dates from the early 20th century.

They should use this at Papal Masses. Rather than the kneeler that has to be carried out by Papal attendants.
I think this altar rail is wonderful. I hope it stays.
Now if only they'd bring back three other things:
    1) re-attach the Papal Altar of the Cahir against the wall like it was prior to 1997
2). bring back the Sedia Gestatoria
3). Bring back the tall white Papal throne in St. Peter's that used to be used for Easter Masses and for Canonizations, etc.

  3. To answer your question: Yes, the church where I go to Latin Mass still has theirs. I'm so happy to be able to kneel at it. Our cathedral still has theirs, too, but, sadly, they don't use it on Sundays.
