  2. Kind of like the old question: why do firemen wear red suspenders?..... Stings on a cassock keep the fascia up!

  3. the stings are attached to the cassock, they hold the fascia not only in place but from falling! like a thin priest wearing a larger fascia...

  4. Traditionally, in Catholic Culture wearing such fabrics was for prelates only. Simple priests are "supposed" to wear a fascia of the same material as their cassock, usually, wool. It is the material as well as the garment that indicates the rank of the one wearing it.

  6. Permanent priests are allowed the use of the moiré fascia.
