America's Most Faithful Peritus

He was a pastor at the last Council.

Our peritus from Minnesota.

The former rector of the St. Paul Seminary and pastor of St. Agnes parish in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Meet the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Rudolph G. Bandas.

Yours truly found his business card inside an old book in Rome.

He wrote many books. Some of the finest on Catholic education.

He never went bonkers.

Once I went with a dear friend to pray at his tomb in Silver Lake, Minnesota.

Monsignor Bandas, pray for us!

  1. I'm going to disagree and say that the most orthodox American peritus was Fr. Joseph Clifford Fenton. He was a stalwart defender of the proper understanding of Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus. Vatican II broke his heart. He came home from Vatican II and died shortly thereafter.

I know this site below is problematic, but they have very good materials on Fr. Fenton:
