Papal Marquis and Councilor of Vatican State: Francesco Pacelli

Brother of the future pope.

Born February 27, 1874.
Died April 27, 1935.

He played an important part in the negotiations preceding the Lateran Pact (1929) between Italy and the Holy See.

He had three sons who were made princes by King Victor Emmanuel III in December 1941:

Marquis Carlo Pacelli. Counsel General for the Vatican City State.
Marquis Marcantonio Pacelli. A colonel in the Noble Guards.
Marquis Giulio Pacelli. A colonel in the Noble Guards. Technico-Legal Section of the Congregation of the Propagation of the Faith. Functioned as Costa Rica's diplomatic representative to the Holy See with the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary.
